The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a client operating across the Transportation sector, collaborating closely with key stakeholders, such as Local Authorities, Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, TfN, and the DfT, to drive positive outcomes.
Pay rate: £320 - £340 Day Rate (up to 3 months, with the potential to increase to 6 months)
Location: Manchester (Hybrid working arrangement)
Role:
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a local authority that is looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the team as an interim Public Relations & Media Officer. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to our client's Communication & PR management plans and campaigns to ensure seamless stakeholder engagement and effective public relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day management and delivery of public relations activities, including events, advocacy opportunities, and political/parliamentary engagement to promote transport investment priorities.
- Collaborate across internal teams to design and implement a proactive media and PR strategy, showcasing investment and delivery milestones in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Manage internal and external projects/campaigns as required, supporting the successful delivery of the business objectives.
- Act as Communication partner to provide guidance, including participation in the on-call press rota and conducting daily media monitoring.
Experience required:
- Extensive experience in public affairs, media relations, social media, internal communications, stakeholder engagement, and multi-channel communication strategies.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and media representatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely for various audiences.
- The ideal professional would need prior client-side experience, ideally within the public sector - examples include Network Rail, Transport for the North (TfN), the Department for Transport (DfT), Transport for London (TfL), Train Operating Companies, the NHS, Local Authorities, or the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
