Help shape the future of leadership by strategically sourcing, assessing and engaging with the talent who define it. Headquartered in Edinburgh, FWB is a leading UK wide boutique Executive Search & Board Advisory firm. In addition to working with clients in all industry and business sectors on search mandates, we deliver a variety of services including management due-diligence, remuneration benchmarking and executive education through our partnership with the University of Edinburgh Business School.

From our offices in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and London, we work in close partnership with clients to ensure they appoint the best talent available, backed by insight, rigour, and judgement. We are now looking for a Researcher / Talent Attraction & Research Consultant to join our high-performing team. This is a key role in the search process — working closely with our Recruitment Directors you will take the lead on mapping markets, identifying top-tier talent, and helping to craft compelling search strategies that deliver results across a diverse portfolio of work.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct in-depth market research and talent mapping across a wide range of sectors and functions.
  • Identify, engage, and assess potential candidates for executive-level and non-executive roles in the UK and globally.
  • Lead on and support the development of search strategies, target lists, and outreach approaches.
  • Collaborate with Directors, as well as directly with clients, to build a deep understanding of the brief and the broader commercial context.
  • Conduct initial interviews with prospective candidates.
  • Provide insight and intelligence that adds value beyond the candidate longlist — from competitor benchmarking to organisational structures and talent trends.
  • Produce high quality research reports that will be presented to Board level and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Assist in production of pitch documentation.
  • Support market analysis, psychometric assessment and investor backed Management Diligence as part of FWB’s wider suite of services.

What we’re looking for:

  • A naturally curious, commercially aware researcher or recruitment consultant with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and professional presence — comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and candidates.
  • A structured thinker who can synthesise complex information and present it clearly.
  • Experience in a research, recruitment, executive search, or insight-led role is welcome — but we’re open to hearing from individuals from other backgrounds who bring relevant skills.
  • A team player with a growth mindset and a genuine interest in people, business, and leadership.
