A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cell Leader to join a high-performing production team. The Cell Leader will play a key role in driving day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved in terms of Quality, Delivery and Cost. This is a hands-on leadership position, suited to someone with a strong mechanical assembly background and the drive to motivate and develop a skilled team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the team on the shop floor, maintaining workflow and motivating staff to meet daily targets.
  • Ensure adherence to standard work practices, one-piece flow, and other lean manufacturing principles.
  • Monitor and manage team performance, including attendance, work rate, and attitude.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving production issues, ensuring timely communication and problem-solving.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including CI, Kaizen, 5S, and engineering changes.
  • Maintain and update visual management tools, standard work documentation, and training matrices.
  • Oversee daily start-ups, machine setups, staffing levels, and material replenishment.
  • Coordinate cross-training and maintain accurate AX system transactions.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience with high-level mechanical assembly.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • High-level numeracy and confident using computer systems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, low-volume, high-tolerance manufacturing environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a low-batch, precision workshop environment.
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Organised, methodical, and accurate under pressure.
