Our vision is to “Pioneer fairer financial outcomes by empowering lenders to deliver and enabling savers to prosper” We are doing this by building a unique and highly scalable data driven multi-asset bank through a partnership of ecosystems, specialising in the delivery of forward flow partnerships and portfolio acquisitions from non-bank lenders, alongside our own brand deposits. Purpose of Role This is a great opportunity for a recent grad, or someone with 1-2 years work experience. The Operation Risk Analyst will be the 2nd line support of all SilverRock’s outsourcing and third-party arrangements as well as supporting the oversight and management of operational risks across the business. The ideal applicant will have operational risk experience gained within the first or second line of defence within a financial services environment and must have experience of operating and assessing controls . The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our comprehensive operational risk processes, specifically conducting ongoing controls assessment activity and supporting with risk reporting. This role will report directly to the Head of Outsourcing and Operational Risk. Key Accountabilities: Operational Risk Framework Support Assist in implementing and maintaining the operational risk framework in line with the overarching risk management framework. Complete controls testing activity to identify and report the effectiveness of controls and where required, to support the first line with enhancing, designing and implementing controls. Risk Appetite & KRI Monitoring Support the development, tracking, and reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to help monitor the operational risk exposure of the organization. Collaboration with Business Units Work closely with first line teams to identify and assess operational risks, providing input into the development of mitigation strategies. RCSA Process Management Assist in embedding the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Conduct regular reviews and updates of the RCSA content to ensure risks are accurately identified, assessed, and documented. Strategic Risk Assessment Provide input on risk assessments for new business initiatives, including onboarding new commercial partners, to ensure they are in line with the organization’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements. Support risk assessments for projects and business changes, ensuring that operational risks are considered and mitigated early in the process. Risk Management Systems Contribute to the implementation and ongoing management of risk management software to improve risk data capture, aid consistency and provide support to users. Regulatory Compliance Support in any regulatory risk assessments, mainly focusing on EBA outsourcing requirements, operational risk and operational resilience. Operational Risk Reporting Prepare and contribute to regular risk reports and updates for senior management, risk committees, and the Board, ensuring all operational risks are accurately reflected. Track and escalate any significant operational risk incidents and ensure they are addressed promptly. These accountabilities reflect the operational risk analyst’s role in supporting the broader operational risk framework, ensuring compliance, and monitoring risk exposures across the organisation. Key Required Skills An ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in operational risk with strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements and risk systems. Technical Risk Management Skills Operational Risk Framework Experience: Understanding of operational risk management practices, including development, implementation, and monitoring of risk controls. Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA): Experience in conducting and supporting RCSA processes to identify and mitigate operational risks across various business units. KRI Development & Monitoring: Knowledge of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), risk appetite metrics, and their application in risk reporting and management. Regulatory Knowledge Compliance with Outsourcing and Risk Regulations: Understanding of relevant regulatory guidelines, such as EBA Outsourcing Guidelines, PRA Outsourcing Rules, and FCA/PRA operational resilience requirements. Risk Reporting to Regulators: Experience of supporting risk reporting processes Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities Risk Identification and Assessment: Ability to assess and analyse operational risks, identify potential threats, and propose appropriate mitigation strategies. Data Analysis: Skills in analysing risk data, using it to inform business decisions, and presenting clear, actionable insights to senior management. Communication and Collaboration Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in collaborating with various teams (first, second, and third lines of defence). Clear Reporting Skills: Ability to prepare concise and clear risk reports for different levels of the organisation. Attention to Detail and Organisational Skills Risk Monitoring: Ability to maintain oversight of multiple risk processes and projects simultaneously. Incident Tracking: Organisational skills to track and escalate operational risk incidents and ensure timely resolution. Proactive and Self-Motivated Approach Continuous Improvement Mindset: Ability to refine and improve risk outlooks. Proactive Risk Identification: A proactive approach to identifying emerging risks and proposing solutions before they escalate into larger issues. Experience in Risk Systems and Tools Risk Management Software: Ideally, have experience in using risk management systems and software to track, monitor, and report operational risks whether that be in the first of second lines of defence.
