We’re working with a long-established, global aerospace manufacturer to support the appointment of an Engineering Team Leader focused on sustaining in-service products — specifically complex composite and metallic structures used in commercial aviation. This is a key technical leadership position, ideal for someone who enjoys solving design and manufacturing challenges on mature programmes. You’ll be joining a team that supports ongoing product performance, manages design changes, and works closely with both customers and internal operations to ensure that existing systems continue to meet regulatory, commercial, and performance expectations.

What the role involves:

  • Acting as the lead technical contact for customer and internal queries relating to sustaining engineering issues.
  • Leading and mentoring a small team of engineers and guiding their technical development.
  • Managing engineering activities on assigned programmes — working closely with Programme Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and other key departments.
  • Supporting quality investigations (including RCCA), non-conformance analysis, and design improvements.
  • Ensuring all engineering outputs meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement within the sustaining function and promoting engineering best practice.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience in the design or analysis of aerospace structures, ideally with both composites and metallics.
  • Familiarity with in-service engineering, concessions, and root cause investigations.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across functions and with external stakeholders.
  • Previous exposure to working within a structured quality and regulatory environment (EASA/FAA).
  • Team leadership or technical mentoring experience is desirable.

The offer:

  • Competitive basic salary
  • Up to 15% annual bonus
  • Hybrid working (typically 2–3 days per week on-site)
  • Industry-leading pension and benefits package
  • Relocation support where required

This is a great opportunity to take on real technical ownership within a stable, well-resourced aerospace programme environment — with the backing of a business that’s invested in long-term sustainability and engineering development.
