INTRODUCTION

About the Club & Foundation:

Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation (HUCSF) is a registered charity providing sporting opportunities for children in the North East. Its main aim is inclusion and education coaching in over 15 schools for all abilities.

Since becoming a registered Charity in May 2008, Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation has expanded into a diverse range of activities to support the people of Hartlepool United and wider community, with the aim of providing and assist in providing facilities for sport, health, education and social inclusion or other leisure time occupation of such persons who have need for such facilities. This can by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement poverty or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Working Arrangements and Ideal Candidates:

This is a part-time voluntary role and we welcome applications from people who have a passion for shaping a brighter future for the community, as well as the vision to help us use our standing in the town as a positive tool to do so. Knowledge and experience of working within sport, health or social inclusion or the needs of the town during the current climate would be advantageous but not essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Trustee (Volunteer)

Employed by: Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation

Location: Prestige Group Stadium, Clarence Road, Hartlepool TS24 8BZ

Reports to: Community Sports Foundation Manager

Purpose and Objectives: To assist and contribute to the overall vision and action implementation of the Foundation whilst promoting our values at all times.

Key Relationships (internal): Foundation Manager, Foundation Staff

Key Relationships (external): Impact beneficiaries of the Foundation, wider Hartlepool community

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act in the Foundation’s best interests, setting strategies and plans, making key decisions and overseeing the general running of the Foundation
  • Contribute ideas of areas in which the Foundation’s funds should be invested, managing and administering the finances of the Foundation as per instruction
  • To be prudent in carrying out the terms of the Foundation, acting reasonably and competently in all matters relating to the Foundation
  • Advance the purposes and targets of the Foundation
  • Advising Foundation management on how to carry out responsibilities where professionally necessary
  • Book-keeping, budgeting and preparing reports on behalf of the Foundation
  • Uphold honest and trustworthy characteristics at all times, maintaining good organisational skills and a strong work ethic
  • Ensure the Foundation remains compliant with all relevant policies including safeguarding and equality
  • Ensure all Foundation operations remain compliant with all relevant health and safety procedures Embed operational promotion of all Foundation values
  • Adhere to confidentiality and data protection procedures
