If you are a quality-driven professional with a passion for food safety and high standards, we are working with a leading player in the food & drinks industry who is seeking a QC & Compliance Specialist to join their quality team. Experienced in food testing, quality control, and auditing – and love coaching others to high standards – this could be your next big move!
In this hands-on oriented role, you will support the delivery of the Quality Control (QC) testing program across both the main lab and analytical functions. You will play a crucial part in maintaining product integrity and compliance, while also helping to shape and train a high-performing QC team.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day QC lab testing, ensuring all quality checks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Allocate resources and prioritise workload based on production and business needs.
- Train and mentor QC technicians to ensure full compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
- Lead quality investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate closely with New Product Development and Manufacturing teams to support ingredient performance evaluation and product launches.
- Maintain and improve compliance through internal systems and documented procedures.
- Support both internal and external audits, responding to findings and ensuring traceable, accurate reporting.
- Provide traceability and mass balance data in line with customer and legal requirements.
- Champion a strong health and safety culture within the QC team and across the wider site.
- Act as deputy to the Quality Manager when required and support wider technical team functions as needed.
- Proven experience in a food manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of quality control and food safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, compliance procedures, and quality systems.
- Confident leading investigations, managing documentation, and implementing CAPAs.
- Previous experience training and developing team members.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical, production, and NPD teams.
- Flexible, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach.
