MEM Recruitment Northampton is currently recruiting for Car Strip/Fitter for our client based in Thurleigh, Bedford. The ideal candidate would be responsible for removing, assembling, or fitting parts, components, and machinery to ensure efficient functionality. This role involves taking apart equipment, inspecting parts for wear and tear, and then reassembling them after necessary repairs or adjustments.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Stripping and fitting panels
- Carrying out repairs to restore vehicles to their original condition in line with approved methods
- Removing parts and panels off a range of vehicles
- Ensuring that all nuts, bolts, screws and any other fixings are labelled and correctly stored ready for when the stripped parts and panels are needed to be put back on to the vehicle
- Supporting bodyshop team within other departments if required
- Training bodyshop trainee staff
Skills and Experience required:
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a similar role as a Vehicle Strip/Fitter
- Full UK Driving Licence with ability to drive both manual and automatic cars
- Own tools
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively
- Ability to identify faults and ensure all parts fit correctly during the reassembly process
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine the necessary repairs or adjustments
Shift Patterns:
Monday to Friday with weekend availability. Hours to be 07:30 - 16:00 to start from, and then shift would be given between hours: 06:00 - 18:00.
