Panoramic Associates are currently recruiting for an interim Mechanical Building Services Engineer for an initial 6 month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems. You will work closely with other engineering teams to deliver energy-efficient and reliable building systems, ensuring compliance with building regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and manage the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and ventilation systems.
- Perform detailed calculations and simulations to support system design and efficiency.
- Develop and review mechanical specifications and drawings for compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems into building designs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and on-site teams.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor installation progress, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in client meetings to review project status, address concerns, and ensure project requirements are met.
- Contribute to the commissioning and handover process of mechanical systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in building services, with a strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and ventilation systems.
- Knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and sustainability practices.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and team members.
