Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a flagship high-rise project in Manchester, valued at £100 million. This is a 12-month freelance contract, offering £400 per day, with a strong likelihood of extension based on project pipeline and performance. You will play a key role in the commercial delivery of a major residential scheme, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful financial management of the build.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading all commercial aspects of the £100m high-rise development from inception through to final account
- Managing subcontractor procurement, contract negotiation, and package awards
- Overseeing cost reporting, forecasting, and change management processes
- Managing monthly valuations, variations, and payment applications
- Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Liaising with project teams, design consultants, and client representatives
- Ensuring contractual compliance and maintaining accurate project records
