Project Manager / Business Development Lead - Urban Transport AI
Contract to Perm | £400-500 Per Day | Remote (UK-based preferred)
Start: Mid-Late May
If you've sold to city authorities, we want to talk to you. My client is building an AI assistant to help councils manage traffic, mobility, and city infrastructure more intelligently. Backed by £1m+ in research funding and already piloting with major councils, we're now looking for someone to lead customer relationships, drive adoption, and open new doors. This is a commercial role first and foremost. We need someone who knows how to sell to local government, manage complex stakeholders, and help councils get real value from technology.
Prior Experience With Sales and City Authorities is Essential
The Role
This is a hybrid of business development, project management, and customer success, but the two non-negotiables are:
- Must-haves:
- Proven sales or business development experience - ideally in technology, consultancy, or public sector services.
- Direct experience working with or selling to UK city authorities - you understand how councils buy, how to navigate stakeholders, and how decisions get made.
What you'll do:
- Own relationships with existing council partners (traffic teams, planners, smart city leads).
- Lead pilot rollouts - from scoping requirements to delivering value.
- Drive upsell, renewal, and expansion conversations.
- Support outreach to new city authorities and public sector organisations.
- Feed customer insight back into the product and tech teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in transport, mobility, smart city, or public-sector data projects.
- Exposure to AI products, SaaS, or early-stage startups.
Why Join Us?
You'll be part of a small, ambitious team building genuinely useful AI for the public good, helping cities tackle congestion, pollution, and mobility challenges. You'll work directly with councils, shape product strategy, and play a key role in growing our customer base.
The Details:
Contract-to-perm £400-500/day (negotiable) Remote-first (UK-based preferred) Start: ASAP
If you know how to sell to city authorities and want to work on technology with real-world impact, I'd love to hear from you. Please send your CV with a short description of why you are a good fit for the role. No sponsorship is available for this role, and candidates must be UK-based.
