Claims Consultant
- Location: Watford
- Job Type: Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
- Salary: ยฃ25,000 p/annum + benefits
Join our client, a fast-growing specialist health insurance business as a Claims Consultant. This role is integral to delivering high-quality customer service throughout the claims journey, reporting directly to the Member & Employee Services Manager.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assess and authorise claims via telephone, post, and e-mail.
- Provide follow-up support for existing claims and written confirmation of claims decisions and notifications.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulatory requirements including data protection, business security, conduct risk, consumer duty, and fraud & anti-money laundering.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients by phone and in written form.
- Attend regular review meetings and appraisals to monitor progress and identify training needs.
- Suggest improvements to processes to enhance efficiency and customer service excellence.
- Build professional relationships and foster team spirit with peers and colleagues.
- Support team members with training and collaborate to achieve team goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 yearsโ customer service experience.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Exceptional verbal and communication skills, with the ability to use concise, clear, and appropriate language.
- Excellent organisational skills; ability to manage multiple demands.
- Empathetic, with the ability to identify, understand, and respond to different views.
- Proactive approach with a โcan-doโ mentality and the ability to respond well under pressure.
- Teamwork and cooperation; must work well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations relevant to the role.
