About the Role:

Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist to join their dynamic team based in London and Epsom. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work on nationally significant projects that make a positive impact on biodiversity and the environment. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to award-winning projects and be involved in innovative ecological work that is celebrated across the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile ecological projects.
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting field surveys; analysing and interpreting results.
  • Acting as an Ecological Clerk of Works when required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • A degree in Ecology or a closely related field (other equivalent qualifications considered).
  • Membership with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) (your membership fees will be covered).
  • Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or equivalent (desirable).
  • Strong experience in protected species surveys, including leading protected species surveys in line with CIEEM’s Competency Framework.
  • Bats Survey Licence (Level 1 or 2) is desirable.
  • Experience with UK Habitat surveys, habitat condition assessments, and Defra Biodiversity Metric.
  • Knowledge and experience of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments (desirable).
  • A full UK driving licence.
