We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Yorkshire Water, supporting them in proactively and reactively maintaining their Wastewater Network for the next five years and beyond! We are currently recruiting for an Internal Quantity Surveyor to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Area, Region. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding career with Lanes Group, working closely with one of our most exciting clients and contributing to their AMP8 objectives.

Due to a contract win we are looking for applicants all around the Yorkshire Regions.

Working Hours & Location

  • Location: Bradford
  • Hours of work: 40 hours per week

About the Role

Responsibilities – but not limited to:

  • Contractual knowledge to communicate with relevant parties to ensure understanding of the terms of contract.
  • Work efficiently and calmly to tight deadlines or other stress factors as they arise.
  • Ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements.
  • Use of performance data to identify opportunities and implement commercial processes to ensure contractual entitlements and opportunities are realised.
  • Working closely with the Operational team.
  • Ensuring proper contractual administration of contract assigned, including value and cost control, and maintenance of records.
  • Accurately value works undertaken and where necessary provide records to substantiate cost to allow prompt issue of Application for payment/invoice in line with contractual timescales.
  • Support development of individuals within the commercial team.
  • Accept extra duties as situations arise.
  • Management of Subcontract Accounts.

Skills and behaviours:

  • HNC in Quantity Surveying would be advantageous.
  • Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities or civils industry desirable.
  • Experience in QS role or Senior Commercial role.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, Advanced Excel skills essential.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts.
  • Strong desire to maintain client relationships whilst not compromising contractual entitlement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
