The Role: Purchasing Agent

Location: Hellaby, Rotherham (onsite)

Employment: 12 month FTC, full time

What you’ll Do:

  • Responsible for managing the overall sourcing activities around general purchasing, supplier relationship management, resourcing activities, development projects and engineering change orders in support of Global Supply Management goals and objectives.
  • This individual will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multi-task is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proactive relationships with suppliers to resolve issues and support product development.
  • Execute purchasing activities and act as a liaison between suppliers and plants.
  • Address supplier-related shortages and identify supply base gaps for future projects.
  • Integrate approved suppliers into new product development.
  • Monitor and manage price changes, supporting cost improvements and reducing supply vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies.

Who You Are:

  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain with a track record of progressive responsibility.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems (SAP) and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in numerical and cost accounting.
  • Deadline-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Methodical with excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements:

  • APICS certification preferred.
  • SAP E03 competent.
  • Ariba Procurement module user.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes.
  • Previous experience in a Buyer / Purchasing Role.
