Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do you offer structured training?
Yes! We have structured induction and on-boarding, as well as on-going supervision sessions and continuing professional development (CPD) as part of our team support framework.
I have never been self-employed before—what does this mean?
Many people feel uncertain when they first encounter the term \”self-employed,\” especially if it is a new experience for them. However, being self-employed offers significant benefits, including greater flexibility and control over your earnings.
Our self-employed contracts are structured similarly to traditional employment contracts, including a probationary period, a notice period, and clear expectations regarding professional standards and performance.
One key difference is that, as a self-employed professional, you are responsible for managing your own tax payments rather than having them deducted by an employer. This is a straightforward process through HMRC, and there are opportunities to offset business expenses to reduce your overall tax liability.
Do I need to set up a limited company to be self-employed?
No, setting up a limited company is not required. Many of our physiotherapists operate as sole traders , which is a simple and widely used self-employment structure.
If you are unsure, we recommend speaking with an accountant for advice. We also advise setting aside a portion of your earnings each month to cover your annual tax bill.
How does holiday entitlement work?
There is no holiday allowance. You are free to take holiday when you like provided it fits with the needs of the service. If you need to adjust your working hours occasionally—such as starting later or finishing earlier for family or social commitments—this is absolutely fine, provided there is sufficient notice to allow for diary management.
Do I have to work over Christmas?
No! Most of our team members choose to take time off over Christmas and New Year, as demand from patients is typically lower during this period.
As a team, we usually close for the entire festive period , allowing everyone to enjoy time with family and friends. However, if you have patients who wish to be seen up until Christmas Eve or between Christmas and New Year, you are free to offer appointments if you prefer.
Are there any on-call requirements?
Absolutely not!
