The Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality surgical procedures using InMode's technologies. This includes assisting with live cases, implementing protocols, supporting clinical training, and ensuring all equipment and environments meet compliance and best practice standards. The ODP will also have the opportunity to contribute to shaping and developing clinical protocols, supporting physician education, and helping standardise surgical pathways across the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Support & Surgical Assistance
- Provide skilled assistance to clinicians during aesthetic surgical procedures involving InMode devices (e.g., BodyTite, FaceTite, AccuTite, Quantum10, Quantum25).
- Prepare, set up, and maintain sterile fields and surgical environments.
- Assist with instrument handling, patient positioning, and intra-operative support.
- Monitor patients during procedures and ensure prompt response to clinical needs.
- Training & Educational Support
- Support new clinicians during onboarding and device training sessions.
- Help deliver in-theatre guidance on best practices for surgical protocols.
- Work alongside the Head of Clinical and Operation Manager to develop standardised surgical pathways and documentation.
- Contribute to internal clinical education materials and guidelines.
- Support workshops and live training events, ensuring clinical safety and efficiency.
- Clinical Governance & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control measures in line with CQC and NHS guidelines.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and incident reporting where necessary.
- Participate in audits, quality assurance checks, and compliance reviews.
- Support medical staff in achieving full documentation and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Equipment Management
- Maintain responsibility for the readiness, calibration, and safety of all surgical devices and consumables.
- Ensure surgical kits are complete, decontaminated, and restocked as per procedural requirements.
- Liaise with engineering or service teams for any device-related concerns.
- Development & Leadership
- Actively contribute to the development of InMode UK and Ireland's surgical program and internal clinical protocols.
- Offer feedback to improve clinical workflows and customer experience.
- Provide mentorship or shadowing support to less experienced team members or new hires.
- Identify gaps in training and propose actionable solutions to enhance clinical education.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HCPC-registered Operating Department Practitioner or equivalent (e.g., NMC-registered Theatre Nurse with relevant ODP experience).
- Minimum 2 years of theatre experience, preferably with exposure to aesthetic or plastic surgery environments.
- Excellent sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative and professional approach.
- Ability to work independently and travel to different clinical/training locations across the UK and Ireland.
- Passion for aesthetics and innovation in minimally invasive procedures is a plus.
- Flexibility to assist with out-of-hours or weekend training sessions, when required.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience working with energy-based devices (e.g., RF, laser, or similar platforms).
- Previous involvement in clinical training, protocol development, or SOP writing.
- Familiarity with CQC requirements and private clinic standards.
