You will be working for one of the leading housing associations with over 55,000 homes across the south.
Your new role
As a Floor Layer you\’ll be working across Hampshire and surrounding area, bringing your skills to a range of properties.
In this role, you\’ll be preparing and fitting vinyl flooring in wet rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.
Your work will involve accurately measuring and preparing floors using latex or plywood, then fitting vinyl sheet flooring, safety flooring, or vinyl tiles to a high standard. You\’ll also carry out minor repairs on different types of floor coverings, making sure any potential hazards are dealt with.
You won\’t be working alone the client are all about teamwork, so you\’ll be collaborating with your colleagues whenever needed to ensure the customers always receive the best service.
They will provide you with your uniform, a van and PPE. You\’ll also take responsibility for delivering various types of floor coverings as part of the kitchen and bathroom programmes. This is a 40 hour week 5 days.
What you\’ll need to succeed
- Demonstrable experience of fitting a variety of floor coverings in both domestic and commercial environments.Ability to identify different grades of carpet and vinyl and their suitability in both domestic and commercial environments.
- Knowledge of wet room flooring systems such as AKW products.
- Experience of working as part of a trade team delivering to tight timescales.
- Ability to record accurately work undertaken, record hours, materials and costs. This may be via paper or electronic submission.
- Driving licence
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
- Awareness of Control of Substance hazardous to Health (COSHH) in particular handling latex, solvents and adhesives
