Hays are looking for an experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer to work on a static site for a leading vehicle manufacturer, conducting work that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service that covers multiple disciplines and provides a reactive and proactive maintenance service, as per project requirements, to all operational equipment.
Key Information:
- 40hrs a week, operating on a 2-week rolling rota (06:00-14:30 / 08:00-16:30 / 09:30-18:00)
- Participate with the on-call rota, currently 2 in 6. Additional payment for on-call will be awarded.
- Based at static site - Thorne
- The role sits within a team of 3 supported by on-site management providing a wide range of facilities services to our clients.
- PPM & Reactive works are predominantly transmitted via a CAFM system by a central helpdesk and received and administered via a hand-held device.
- The variety of tasks and priorities encountered make it necessary for all engineers to be very flexible, physically fit and customer-focused - some working at heights may be required periodically.
- Overtime may also be required at times and will be agreed with the team as appropriate.
- You will be required to join the call-out rota covering reactive work outside of normal working hours.
Main duties:
- Assist on-site management in the organisation, management and co-ordination of on-site services to ensure all electrical and mechanical equipment is maintained to the highest standard in all circumstances.
- Ability to carry out minor surveys, inspections, and testing on all associated electrical and mechanical systems across the site.
- Simple report writing is essential to the role to be able to accurately reflect and relay essential information across the management team.
- To perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on all associated water services equipment, including fault diagnostics and repair.
- Achieve contract SLAs and KPIs in all reactive and planned work across all service lines for the contract site.
- To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner, using point of work risk assessments where required.
- To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
- If requested, to assist with the monitoring and supervision on a day-to-day basis, including apprentices. This includes assisting with the processing and completion of college reports if required.
Person Specification:
- Experience in building maintenance and repair is essential.
- Competence in LV Electrical maintenance, including testing, is essential.
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications are essential (preferably 2365 or 2391).
- 18th edition wiring regulations would be highly advantageous.
- Strong customer care focus.
- Good Health and Safety awareness and knowledge.
- Full driving Licence.
- Polite, patient and good-humoured.
- Able to process Administration tasks associated with the role.
- Committed to delivering quality.
- Reliable and flexible.
- Able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
