Our client has multiple food and drinks brands in their portfolio and they have a strong presence across the UK who has nurtured sustainable, diversified growth, doubling in size since 2021. The Role: They are looking for a dynamic, friendly and intelligent Management Accountant (Ideally PQ or Qualified) who’s up for an exciting opportunity to come and join their Finance team and bring strong Financial as well as commercial expertise. This is a fundamental role that sits within the Finance Team that provides Commercial and Operational clarity on business performance to the entire team.
Responsibilities:
- Working on Monthly Management Accounts and monthly reporting
- Preparation of monthly sales reports complete with P&L’s, variance analysis and commentaries
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist the business with periodic analytical information
- Book relevant month-end journals – accruals, prepayments, stock, depreciation, deferred revenue
- Assisting with yearly budgeting and monthly forecasting
- Assist with maintaining cash flow model and cash flow forecasting
- Performing lots of root cause analysis for sales and demand issues
- Assist with weekly payment run
- Responsible in the S&OP process to providing up to date data on the Financial & Operational Accuracy performance of both departments.
- Ensuring that the KPIs from our Commercial Models to Demand Forecast Numbers are accurate and up to date.
Qualities:
- Excellent attention to detail, diligent, working to very high standards
- Motivated, with a high level of enthusiasm and energy.
- Able to work under pressure, coupled with a strong work ethic.
- Strives for continuous improvement and technical excellence in all activities.
- Excellent teamwork skills as well as ability to operate on a stand-alone basis when required.
- Knowledge of stock and costs accounting
- Ideally a background in FMCG, Food/Beverages or Manufacturing
Skills – Essential:
- Highly Numerate, able to manipulate data and produce clear information to drive decisions within the business
- Advance Excel Knowledge -- from DAX, Power Pivot, and Excel Formulas
- Knowledge Surrounding Model Structures and experience working with larger datasets
- A strong communicator between departments, able to communicate clearly whether this is with customers, teams and directors where needed.
- Extremely Pro-Active, enjoys a challenge and will not be afraid to get stuck in!
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating flexibility and mental agility
- Degree educated / Professional accountancy qualification
- Xero Experience
