Key Responsibilities
- Design fire systems in line with BS5839-1 standards using AutoCAD, interpreting printed plans for both complete systems and modifications.
- Review and analyse client specifications, drawings, and enquiries.
- Prepare accurate cost estimations and ensure all quotations are technically and commercially sound.
- Produce high-quality professional quotations and technical submittals, incorporating all necessary technical and commercial content.
- Engage with clients to fully understand their requirements, presenting proposals that highlight Sensecoβs technical and commercial advantages.
- Assess incoming enquiries to determine suitability based on company bid/no-bid policies.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Projects Teams, assisting with designs and reviewing technical content to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Primarily office-based but may involve site visits and surveys.
- Support the achievement of monthly sales targets.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Experience in BS5839-1 fire system design (training/qualifications desirable).
- Strong technical knowledge of fire detection systems from various manufacturers.
- Additional knowledge of related systems (e.g., gas suppression, water mist, extinguishing/suppression systems, voice alarms, security systems like CCTV, access control, intruder alarms) is advantageous.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet client deadlines with flexibility.
- Previous experience within the fire industry and a commercial environment.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant fire and life safety regulations, particularly BS5839-1:2017.
