Role Overview: The Supply Chain Officer plays a crucial role in the end-to-end supply chain for our supplement product line. You will be responsible for the procurement process, including supplier negotiations, purchase order management, and inventory planning. The role also involves maintaining optimal stock levels and supporting the seamless execution of production schedules to ensure our products are consistently available to meet customer demand and comply with standards in our market sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Coordinate the procurement of raw materials, finished goods, and finished product testing for our own brand of supplements, while managing supplier contracts, supplier performance, and inventory levels to ensure timely and cost-effective supply.
- Planning & Inventory Management: Develop and maintain production schedules, manage inventory in line with forecasts, and coordinate with logistics to ensure efficient stock handling, audits, and shelf-life management.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Use data and ERP systems to analyse trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and produce regular reports on procurement and inventory performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations and quality standards, while staying up to date with regulatory changes.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with suppliers, resolving issues promptly and aligning procurement strategies with business needs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align material supply with production and development goals, support new product planning, and manage label changes.
About you:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in supply chain, procurement, or planning roles, preferably within the supplement or regulated health products industry.
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices, production planning, and inventory control.
- Skilled in ERP and inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
- Understanding regulatory knowledge (e.g., GMP, FDA, EFSA) is essential.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM/CSCP).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and just-in-time practices.
- Experience in the supplements, nutraceuticals, or healthcare industries.
