Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the purchasing and demand planning/forecasting of raw material grains to feed new manufacturing facility
  • Purchasing from several global origins, managing contracts and volumes
  • Collaborating with supply chain, sales, finance and production to ensure seamless coordination of demand, production schedules, and stock availability
  • Work with sales on new product opportunities, researching global supply base for new products, buying globally, setting up new supplier relationships
  • Manage existing product contracts purchasing – price negotiation and volume requirements, working with sales, supply chain, finance and manufacturing
  • Ensure alignment between customer forecasts, production capabilities and procurement needs
  • Create reports and analysis
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure a smooth new business processing operation
  • Meet departmental and individual KPIs, driving continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Purchasing and negotiation experience – a relationship builder
  • Proficient in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
  • Sage experience
  • Task and detailed orientated
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast paced, changing and challenging manufacturing environment
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a demand planning/forecasting role ideally in fast paced manufacturing such as pharma, food or healthcare
  • Minimum of a degree in business, supply chain, and any other relevant fields
