Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the purchasing and demand planning/forecasting of raw material grains to feed new manufacturing facility
- Purchasing from several global origins, managing contracts and volumes
- Collaborating with supply chain, sales, finance and production to ensure seamless coordination of demand, production schedules, and stock availability
- Work with sales on new product opportunities, researching global supply base for new products, buying globally, setting up new supplier relationships
- Manage existing product contracts purchasing – price negotiation and volume requirements, working with sales, supply chain, finance and manufacturing
- Ensure alignment between customer forecasts, production capabilities and procurement needs
- Create reports and analysis
- Collaborate across teams to ensure a smooth new business processing operation
- Meet departmental and individual KPIs, driving continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Purchasing and negotiation experience – a relationship builder
- Proficient in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
- Experienced in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
- Sage experience
- Task and detailed orientated
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to work comfortably in a fast paced, changing and challenging manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a demand planning/forecasting role ideally in fast paced manufacturing such as pharma, food or healthcare
- Minimum of a degree in business, supply chain, and any other relevant fields
