We’re hiring Retrofit Assessors with proven solar surveying experience to support a national programme of home energy efficiency improvements, including solar PV system assessments. If you’re an experienced, RA-qualified energy assessor with your own vehicle, borescope, and tablet – we want to hear from you.
Role Overview:
As a self-employed Retrofit Assessor, you’ll carry out energy performance surveys and PAS 2035 retrofit assessments across domestic properties. For homes where solar PV is an option, you’ll complete a technical solar survey to assess feasibility and installation requirements. You’ll typically complete 2–3 scheduled assessments per day, within your preferred region or nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Pre-Retrofit Assessments to PAS 2035 standards
- Complete full Whole House Retrofit Assessments
- Carry out Solar PV Technical Surveys (roof pitch, orientation, structure, electrical setup)
- Upload survey data via tablet using approved digital tools
- Liaise with scheduling teams and maintain high standards of customer service
What You’ll Need:
- Retrofit Assessor Qualification (RA trained) – essential
- Experience with solar PV surveys (ideally) – confident in technical requirements
- Your own vehicle – with full UK driving licence
- Own equipment – borescope + tablet (for digital survey submissions)
- Strong knowledge of EPCs, building fabric, and energy-saving measures
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively
Pay & Schedule:
- Pre-Retrofit Assessment: £120 per completed survey
- Full Retrofit Assessment with Solar Survey: £190 + £50 solar add-on
- Expected volume: 2–3 completed surveys per day
- Paid weekly
