Finance Manager, Performing arts Organisation, London, £40k

A leading arts organisation is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to support its mission through financial planning, budgeting, and analysis. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this pivotal role focuses on maintaining the organisation's financial health while driving its artistic and organisational objectives forward. The Finance Manager will collaborate with department heads, providing key insights and supporting decision-making through financial oversight.

About the Role

As Finance Manager, you’ll lead the financial planning and reporting functions, manage cash flow, and ensure compliance with financial standards. This role also includes deputising for the Head of Finance, providing strategic financial guidance and support across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis : Develop and manage the annual budget, analyse financial performance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Financial Reporting : Prepare financial statements, manage inter-company transactions, and support grant reporting.
  • Cash Flow Management : Monitor liquidity, oversee investments, and manage banking relationships.
  • Internal Controls : Implement controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate management information.
  • Support Leadership : Act as a financial advisor to the Executive team and department heads, providing insights to support organisational goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications : Chartered accountant or a degree in finance/accounting; Part-qualified or equivalent experience
  • Experience : Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including preparing financial reports.
  • Skills : Strong knowledge of financial regulations, advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables), and effective organisational abilities.
  • Personal Qualities : Collaborative, influential, and able to communicate complex information clearly to non-finance colleagues.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with the arts and production environment to understand financial impacts of creative decisions
  • Experience using Sage 50 Accounts Professional.
