An exciting opportunity to join an established electrical contractor near Hemel Hempstead on a permanent basis. We’re currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team at our head office in St Albans. This is a great opportunity to be part of a professional and supportive environment where your expertise will make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for electrical, data, and ICT infrastructure projects.
- Estimate costs for Fire alarms, CCTV, FIRS, and access control systems.
- Conduct detailed material and labour take-offs using Countfire and Ensign software.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing.
- Review specifications and drawings to ensure tenders meet project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the project management and design teams.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required.
- Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, data cabling, fire alarm systems, CCTV, and access control.
- Proficient in Countfire and Ensign software (or similar estimating tools).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Working Arrangement:
This is a full-time role based at head office. The first three months will be fully office-based for onboarding and training. After this period, flexible working arrangements including work-from-home options will be available.
