We’re delighted to be partnering with a London-based university to support the recruitment of an HR Change Manager. The university is entering a significant period of transformation, and the successful candidate will play a key role within the People Workstream, supporting the integration of Professional Service functions.

Key duties:

  • Leading the HR delivery of organisational change in line with Target Operating Model principles
  • Designing and managing consultation processes with individuals and trade unions
  • Supporting the development of change proposals and their impact on roles, structures, and working practices
  • Ensuring legal compliance and best-practice employee relations
  • Developing resources and training to support line managers through change
  • Monitoring and supporting staff wellbeing throughout the transition
  • Regularly reporting progress, risks, and employee feedback to senior leadership

Candidate profile:

  • Proven track record in employee relations, leading organisational change, and managing projects—ideally within a complex, unionised environment
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering change proposals aligned with defined frameworks, preferably in a unionised context
  • Skilled in managing employee consultations, including leading collective consultation processes, with strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Confident in handling challenging union negotiations and fostering constructive dialogue with trade union representatives

Annual Salary: £51,000 – £60,000 (with potential to offer up to £66,500 for exceptional candidates, depending on experience)

Contract type: Fixed Term for 18 months

Working hours: Full time

Location: Central London (hybrid working)

Additional benefits: 30 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + 3 University closure (41 per annum) + Generous pension contributions
