Are you passionate about delivering outstanding training courses to cyclists? Would you be interested in educating the public about how to safely cycle around the City Region of Greater Manchester? Your Role & who we are

TfGM is responsible for delivering Adult Cycle Training across all 10 districts. From Group Courses for those who have never ridden before through to 1:2:1 support for commuters and families. The cycle training offer is our commitment to support those who live and work in Greater Manchester to take up cycling.

Working with people of all abilities, we don’t just need instructors to instruct, but to be cycling heroes, champions who have a ‘can do’ attitude to help remove barriers and instil confidence in others.

Delivering quality training on our sessions and courses, including but not limited to 1:2:1, Family, Complete Beginner, Confidence Builder, Introduction to Quiet Roads. You’ll need to be approachable, a great communicator – know bikes, live bikes, and love bikes!

As a freelance Trainer you will be required to undertake the delivery of group and on demand sessions, including the client and session administration that supports this, as well as attend and contribute to instructor meetings from time to time.

  • A qualified Freelance National Standard Accredited Cycle Instructor or be working towards this qualification.

  • Experience of working with adults/young people of all abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills.

We have a flexible approach to freelance working with hours to suit in areas of your choice, so it is ideal for those with other commitments. You will be entitled to a fixed fee of £17 per hour; Instructors will need to predominantly cover sessions within the Northern part of Greater Manchester, to include all parts of Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale -Travel time is not paid.
