We are seeking a skilled Palo Alto Engineer with Checkpoint experience, strong operations expertise, and administrative skills to support and maintain network security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Firewalls, troubleshooting security issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of security policies within a complex IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Firewall Management & Security Operations:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto and Checkpoint Firewalls.
- Implement and optimize security policies, rules, and configurations to ensure network protection.
- Monitor Firewall performance and conduct health checks, updates, and patching.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents related to Firewall breaches or misconfigurations.
- Network & Security Administration:
- Administer VPNs, IPS/IDS, NAT, and other network security features.
- Conduct regular audits of Firewall configurations and access controls to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with SOC, NOC, and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network security issues.
- Maintain documentation for Firewall policies, change requests, and operational procedures.
- Operations & Maintenance:
- Perform routine Firewall maintenance, backup, and recovery tasks.
- Proactively monitor logs and alerts to identify potential security threats.
- Support upgrades, migrations, and deployments of new Firewall hardware and software.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks (PAN-OS, Panorama) and Checkpoint Firewalls.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.).
- Experience with VPN configurations, NAT, and security zones.
- Proficiency in administrating Firewall policies and security rules.
- Familiarity with log analysis, SIEM tools, and security monitoring.
- Knowledge of automation and Scripting (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory):
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
- Cisco CCNP Security or equivalent certifications
