Our client is on the look out for a Fibre Pre-Installation Engineer, you’ll be a key player in preparing homes and properties for full-fibre connectivity. Your role focuses on ensuring all fibre infrastructure from poles to ducts, is in place and ready before the installation team connects customers. You’ll work across overhead and underground networks, helping identify and solve potential access or civils issues while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sites for fibre installations by completing pre-installation work on both overhead and underground networks.
- Work to our clients specifications, ensuring all fibre is safely routed and coiled in accordance with guidelines.
- Use slot trenching, duct access, or poles to route fibre to the property.
- Tackle civils tasks, including rodding and roping or pulling in subduct/cable.
- Identify potential issues such as duct blockages, tree cutting requirements, or pole accessibility.
- Support installation teams as needed, helping ensure seamless delivery to customers.
- Ensure all tools, vans, and equipment are well-maintained and ready for daily use.
- Complete all necessary online company forms and job documentation.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer experience and manage expectations professionally.
Qualifications & Skills:
- NRSWA Operative, SA001, SA002, SA007, SA008, QO19, and QU020 qualifications (required).
- Openreach underground and overhead experience.
- Qualified to operate a MEWP.
- Practical knowledge of fibre installs and basic civils work.
- Basic IT proficiency and ability to complete digital job records.
- Clean driving licence.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
