We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sport and Physical Activity Development Officer to join the team at Birmingham City Council on a full-time temporary basis. This role is pivotal in supporting and assisting the development of sport and physical activity programmes across the city. You will play a key role in implementing the Sport and Physical Activity Strategy and contributing to the enhancement of our sports and leisure services.
As a Sports Development Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Programme Development & project delivery
- Strategy implementation
- Leisure facility planning
- Stakeholder engagement
You will support and assist in the development of sport and physical activity programmes across Birmingham, assist in developing the capital portfolio in line with BCC policies and procedures, and identify future opportunities to improve the sport and leisure service. You will also work in partnership with community clubs and organisations to identify capital solutions and support them in developing suitable plans. This is a full-time position with an on-site working agreement and is an ASAP start.
To be successful in securing this role, you should have a passion for sport and physical activity, a strong understanding of strategic planning and project management, as well as excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
