KO2's client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who is passionate, driven, and ready for a challenge. The successful Mechanical Engineer will be joining a close knit, growing engineering team and will have the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team working towards a variety of new projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing sheet metal enclosures and other components, including fascia (decals), product marking labels, bespoke plastic mouldings, and sub-assembly parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness, safety, and reliability.
- Creating and maintaining product assembly models using 3D CAD, and generating production assembly drawings and build instructions.
- Collaborating with production and suppliers to determine the best methods for manufacturing and assembly.
- Preparing and maintaining manufacturing drawings, production assembly documentation, and BOMs.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years' experience in a similar role within a design-for-manufacture environment.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD design and analysis software - SolidWorks 3D CAD.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (including creation of BOMs and parts) and MS Office tools.
- Understanding of cost, safety, and time constraints in design and manufacture.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet-metal forming (CNC Punch, Laser, Bending, etc.).
