Salary: up to £28,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Aeropeople have partnered with a multinational organisation, a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, who are now looking to hire a permanent Compressed Gas Fitter, to be based at their site in Stansted. The successful candidate will be expected to be on site 5 days per week.

It is a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To repair, test and overhaul valve & cylinder assemblies and undertake hydrostatic testing of cylinders and charging of complete assemblies (up to 4500 PSI)
  • Strip down of valve assemblies
  • Replace standard spares as part of the overhaul process
  • Inspect individual parts and replace defective items
  • Thorough clean of components
  • Build-up valve assemblies ready for testing on various flow rigs
  • Hydrostatic testing of cylinders in accordance with Department of Transport requirements
  • Re-assembly of the valve and cylinder components
  • Charge the complete assemblies to pressures of up to 4500 PSI
  • Provide ad hoc support, as required, to the safety inflatable team

About You:

  • Prior experience working of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals (essential)
  • Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Ability to work well in multi-discipline/cross-functional teams
  • Working within a small team of skilled technicians, reliability, flexibility and teamwork are key skill requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multitask whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Positive, enthusiastic, confident and motivated
