Our comprehensive services include reservoir characterization, geochemical analysis, and isotopic analysis, aimed at helping clients assess resource potential and optimize asset utilization. With a network of laboratories worldwide, Stratum Reservoir delivers high-precision analytical data and scientific insights to support informed decision-making throughout the resource lifecycle.
We are now looking to hire a Geologist!
Work tasks:
- Providing sedimentological analysis and interpretations to meet project specific objectives.
- Petrographic analysis of predominantly clastic samples.
- Description and interpretation of core, sidewall core (SWC) and cuttings.
- Integration of data from other Stratum divisions and/or third-party partner companies, including but not limited to: XRF data, QEMSCAN data, CoreDNA data, biostratigraphic data, geochemistry data.
- Report writing including generating graphic figures and conceptual models.
- Basic project management/assisting primary project manager with administrative tasks.
- Interpretation of wireline logs and CCA data, including calculating and applying core shifts.
- Assisting senior sedimentologists with method development as and when required.
- Assisting senior sedimentologists with core workshops, training courses and/or field trips as and when required.
- Other geology tasks in the department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology or Physical Geography/Earth Sciences is preferred.
- Preferably 2-3 years relevant experience but willing to speak to graduates with a petrography-specific background, or more experienced candidates willing to contribute to routine petrography workloads.
- Background in one or more of the following disciplines will be advantageous: Petrography and diagenesis, sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, ichnology.
- Preference will be given to candidates with proven commercial experience in quantitative petrographic analysis, preferably with some commercial core description experience.
- Knowledge of PETROG software will be a distinct advantage.
- A solid grounding in process sedimentology and sedimentological data integration.
- Good knowledge of Windows Office.
- Experience of commercial software such as WellCAD, IC, Petrel etc would be advantageous.
