The Asset Management function within Altrad Babcock is a highly specialised engineering service and equipment provider supporting customers to minimise cost, maximise return and mitigate risk through their asset integrity lifecycle. We are recruiting exceptional candidates to join our mission in becoming a fully certified Asset Management engineering services provider of both consultancy and integrated projects, across future global low carbon energy and infrastructure markets.
The Static Engineering function within the Asset Management business sector provides consultancy services primarily in the power generation industry including thermal, nuclear and renewables, together with process, oil & gas, petrochemical and the newly emerging fusion energy research sectors, largely in the field of integrity engineering. Within this function we have an opportunity for a Senior Static Integrity Engineer to join us in Renfrew.
Reporting to the Static Engineering Group Leader, the Senior Static Integrity Engineer will be responsible for a portfolio of projects and will provide technical advice and guidance to a team of engineers at all levels. A key requirement of the role is to ensure a consistent high standard in the service provided to clients. By providing a specialist service, the Senior Project Engineer will develop relationships with customers, which in turn will optimise the opportunities available and support the development of new business.
We are looking for a highly technical individual who can promote the capabilities of the function, whilst managing the commercial needs of the business and individual projects, developing and implementing industry leading products and techniques. With tools such as ANSYS Mechanical FEA and CFD, Hexagon CEASAR II, TWI CrackWise, Hexagon VVD & PV Elite and Bentley STAAD at your disposal, our successful candidate will perform numerous duties, ranging from investigations into pipework & structural integrity problems and pipe stress analysis to ASME B31.X, to analysing & quantifying damage mechanisms in plant components such as creep & fatigue and mentoring and providing technical leadership to junior engineers.
The Senior Static Integrity Engineer will be a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a working knowledge of the tools used to assess problems in the field of structural integrity (some experience with pressure equipment design is advantageous) and the motivation to widen their knowledge. They will be experienced in office and site work, ideally come from a similar technical role within a relevant industry sector. It is likely they will be chartered and have ten or more years relevant industry experience, but consideration will be given to exceptional candidates who are demonstrably capable, but do not meet both these criteria.
Candidates with knowledge of relevant industry standards such as API-579, BS7910, ASME B31.X, PD5500 etc will have a distinct advantage. In return you will be involved in innovative projects that present creative and technical challenges. You will be joining a supportive work environment that encourages skills development and career growth which will give you the opportunity to contribute to projects with significant social and environmental impacts.
This Senior Project Engineer role is an opportunity to have a major impact on several ground-breaking projects and help to shape the future of the industries in which we work. Security clearance is required for this role. If you have a passion for tackling multi-disciplinary challenges and producing world-class designs, we encourage you to apply.
