We’re looking for an experienced, results-driven, and strategic Senior Project Manager to drive the successful delivery of complex energy projects worldwide. If you have 10+ years of experience in engineering project management, a drive for making change in the global energy industry, and a track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards, we want to hear from you.

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead projects from £10k to £25m+, ensuring they run seamlessly from concept to completion. Your expertise in engineering, supply-chain management, contract negotiation, and onsite execution will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance of power and industrial plants worldwide.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan, direct, and manage all technical, financial, and administrative aspects of projects.
  • Oversee projects from design and engineering through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Define project goals, budgets, and schedules, ensuring they are met or exceeded.
  • Act as RJM’s primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement action plans to avoid delays, mitigate risks, and control costs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks – develop action plans to avoid delays and cost overruns.

Supply Chain Management

  • Evaluate bids and manage external subcontractors and engineering consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and RJM’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Oversee procurement, prepare purchase orders, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Negotiate contract terms and scope changes with suppliers and clients.

Technical & Engineering Oversight

  • Establish design criteria and oversee preliminary engineering.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with client technical specifications.
  • Supervise construction subcontractors, ensuring work meets contractual and technical requirements.
  • Perform on-site engineering, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshooting during project implementation.

Client & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals and presentations.
  • Provide regular status updates and explore opportunities for additional work.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience in engineering project management on small and large projects.
  • Prior knowledge of power plants, combustion systems, or emissions reduction technology.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships.
  • Experience leading projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong competency with MS Office suite including Project.

Bonus Points for:

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Experience with FIDIC/NEC contracts.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it).
  • Additional language skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • A drive for self-development and leadership growth.
