About Norwood: Founded in 1795, Norwood is the oldest Jewish charity in the UK, and has been privileged to receive Royal Patronage since 1815. We support and empower neurodiverse children and their families and people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives. Norwood works with local authorities, to deliver wide-ranging services including residential and supported living accommodation and short-breaks facilities, as well as a range of support groups aimed at the whole family, not just the individual.
About The Service: The service is a large two-storey house. We support eight people whose ages range from forties to seventies. They have moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism and some additional needs of epilepsy and mobility needs. The residents are friendly and social. They enjoy going to the coffee shop, singing, watching films & TV and going out for car rides. Some residents interact with each other, and some are more solitary.

As a Support Worker, you will provide day to day support including:
- Helping the people we support to be independent and live a fulfilling life
- Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
- Accompanying the people we support to routine appointments
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, shopping and paying bills
- Assisting with personal care and administrating medication (if required)
- Assisting with household tasks such as cleaning & cooking
- Support alongside the Physical Activity Practitioner in the hydrotherapy pool
- Drive the home car to take residents to appointments and outings
Essential: Previous experience as a Support Worker, supporting adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities such as autism
Desirable: Experience supporting people with epilepsy
