Job Description
Autism Support Worker
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Monday-Friday (8:30am-3:30pm) -Term Time Only Full time and part time roles available.
Daily Rate: £90-£110 daily rate

Are you passionate about education and looking to make a real impact in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Veritas Education are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Autism Support Workers to work in our schools in Bradford. We have both full-time and part-time positions available to suit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide one-to-one or small group support, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
- Follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSP).
- You will be working alongside other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists and CAMHS to create a comprehensive support network.
- Be confident with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
- Be a fantastic role model and encourage positive behaviour.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Hard working and flexible to meet the needs of the children.
- Be comfortable and confident supporting children with complex SEN and medical needs.
- Communicate with the children by using PECS, sign language and Makaton.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting adults and/or children with Special Educational Needs is essential (Education, residential, hospital, care homes etc).
- Personal experience supporting a family member with SEN/PMLD is also valued.
- Level 2 Team Teach is essential, although this training can be offered by veritas.
- Safeguarding training is essential, although this training can be offered by veritas.
- GCSE English and Maths is essential.
- Good knowledge of SEN is essential.
- A moving and handling qualification is preferred.
- Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
- Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
