Clockwork Education are currently recruiting for a 1:1 Special Educational Needs Support Teaching Assistant for a lovely school in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. This role is to work one to one to support a group of children with ASD and challenging behaviour and the school are looking for someone to start September 2025. The role is ongoing and may become permanent for the right candidate.
The SEND Teaching Assistant will be required to work part time, 12pm - 4pm, 5 days per week.
Responsibilities- Working one-to-one to support a small group of children with ASD and challenging behaviour
- Supporting the children through all lessons and encouraging them to stay on task
- Ability to use own initiative and to change lesson plan when needed
- Level 2 qualification as a teaching assistant
- The ability to provide 2 x educational based references (preferably)
- Enhanced DBS disclosure
- A keen interest in working with and supporting children with SEND
