We are partnering with a leading rail infrastructure contractor seeking an Environmental Manager to lead their Environment & Sustainability team. This role is critical for ensuring compliance, driving sustainability initiatives, and future-proofing rail systems operations.
Experience
- 5+ years in environmental management, preferably within rail, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Expertise in UK environmental legislation, ISO 14001 compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proven track record in managing environmental documentation (e.g., Environmental Management Plans, risk registers).
- Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to environmental laws, permits, and industry standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks linked to environmental impacts.
- Develop and implement strategies for pollution control, carbon reduction, waste management, and climate resilience.
- Lead environmental incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
