We have an exciting opportunity for an Employability Tutor to join the team on a claim's basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24.53 - £41.17 per hour (Dependent on qualifications and experience). We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.

About the role: As the Employability Tutor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering Employability related qualifications to a range of learners. You will be responsible for maximising learner achievement and ensuring learners are provided with an excellent learner experience. Quickstart are the employment support team for Brockenhurst College, based in Southampton, providing fully funded courses to unemployed adults to support them back into work or move a step closer to employment. The role of Employability Tutor will be expected to deliver courses in a variety of different locations across Hampshire, Dorset and surrounding areas so must be able to travel (car required to carry documents/resources).

Responsibilities as our Employability Tutor will include:

  • Delivering classroom based / accredited qualifications entry 3 – level 2 to unemployed adults (learners)
  • Marking/assessing students' work, provide structured feedback and set development objectives for learners
  • Planning & designing appropriate training programmes (including development of schemes of work, lesson plans etc), taking account of individual requirements to ensure differentiation of learning
  • Where appropriate, preparing students to successfully undertake assignments or sit tests/exams in order to maintain high success rates
  • Monitoring and tracking students' progress, including through reviews to ensure high achievement rates
  • Delivering inspiring lessons across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules
  • Carrying out learner inductions and other duties in line with quality assurance processes
  • Developing and strengthening relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes

As our Employability Tutor, you'll ideally have:

  • PTLLS qualification
  • Experience of teaching 19+ unemployed people
  • Knowledge of employability skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Committed and passionate to help people improve their life prospects
