Joining our Depot Management Team you will be working alongside the Night Shift Manager supporting the Depot, your working week will be any 4 days over 7 typically starting at 22:00pm.
This is a key role ensuring the smooth running of the night operation where you will lead teams of Night Loaders, Sorter and Drivers processing parcels to be delivered to the final customer. Our Night Lead position is for someone who understands how to motivate staff and can efficiently prioritise pressing needs, where there isn’t an obvious solution. Lateral and original thinking would be a benefit as would logistics experience but we are open to experience gained in other related fields. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects amongst your peers. The Night Shift Lead is a Nights based role and shift start and finish times may vary although core hours are 22:00pm to 8am dependant on volumes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Manage a team of up to 50 direct reports providing leadership and direction for the shift
- Develop and train reports and ensure SLA's are hit for the Night shift
- Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations
- Process BI and MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
SKILLS/QUALS
- Management experience of leading and managing a team
- Experience of managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantage
- Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
- PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
- An understanding of Transport regulations ideally
