Job Description

CLASS 1 TRAMPER DRIVER

Shifts: MONDAY – FRIDAY – DAYS STARTING FROM 05:00

Pay Rate: STARTING FROM £15.75 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our well-established client based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a Class 1 Tramper Driver will involve but not be limited to:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transport.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting road safety at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management.

Essential Skills:

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
  • Previous experience in multi drop experience will be beneficial

Training:

  • Driver's Assessment will have to be completed
  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
