Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.
- Communicate with clients advising of liabilities and general queries as and when required.
- Possibility of VAT management including review of work of other members of staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Ideally a minimum of AAT qualifications, but will consider qualified by experience if in the role for a long period of time.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in a practice setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero). Strong Excel skills. Experience of Taxcalc would be beneficial.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle complex and detailed financial data accurately.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
- Problem-solving: Ability to analyse and resolve financial discrepancies and issues.
