Food Technology Teacher – Manchester – January start Are you a Qualified Teacher looking for your next teaching opportunity? Do you have experience teaching Food Technology? Prospero Teaching are looking for a QTS qualified Food Technology Teacher to work in a secondary school in Manchester on a full-time basis. The role will start in January and will be for 2 terms until the summer break, it is essential that you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and that you are qualified to teach food technology to key stage 3 & 4 pupils. You will be expected to attend departmental meetings as well as parents evenings as and when required. The role is open to ECTs as well as full qualified teachers. Students really enjoy studying Food, especially the practical element of the subject. As part of their work with food, pupils will be taught how to cook and apply the principles of nutrition and healthy eating. The students will have a focus on healthy eat with an understanding of where food comes from. The students are taught through the concept of think, say, and do which is a helpful to understand the progress of the pupils. At GCSE the students are taught AQA.
