Product Design Engineer

JOB – Product Design Engineer LOCATION – Northampton TERM – Permanent SALARY – £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering and manufacturing company currently looking to bring on a Product Design Engineer to join their growing team. The Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: A degree or qualification in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BSc, BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.) Previous experience in a similar Product Design or Mechanical Design role Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and production techniques A creative and practical approach to product development Good understanding of prototyping and testing Strong communication and team collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines The Product Design Engineer role will involve: Designing and developing new products from concept through to manufacture Producing detailed 3D CAD models and drawings Creating BOMs and technical documentation Collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and quality Working closely with clients or internal stakeholders to understand requirements Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities Ensuring designs comply with applicable standards and regulations Continuously improving existing products based on feedback and performance If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and salary expectations
