This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.\\n\\nNovus are a leading provider of prison education and have been supporting men, women, and children of all ages for over 30 years across the UK to take new directions.

Our business is growing year on year due to our continued success as a leading provider in prison education.\\n\\nSite information\\n\\nHMP Altcourse is a category B local prison, receiving sentenced and remand adult male prisoners as well as young offenders, from the Cheshire and Merseyside courts.
The prison can accommodate up to 1,164 men and all are housed across 7 house blocks. The philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible and reflect life in the outside community.
Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised.\\n\\nWhat the role entails\\n\\nAs the Career Advice Information and Guidance Advisor at HMP Altcourse, you will be responsible for the delivery of a CAIG service to learners who are in custody. You will support them to make informed career and skills choices using a range of guidance tools to assess their suitability and identify any support required to achieve their goals and to help them transition to life post release. A general list of role responsibilities is also included in the attached role profile.\\n\\nWhat we need from you\\n\\nIdeally you will want to be a part of a team which has at its core a focus on improving lives and enabling and equipping learners to develop, grow and be equipped for a life of work and success.
You'll be a self-starter with a passion to learn and grow yourself and will bring passion, dedication, and positivity to your new role.\\n\\nThe following qualifications are listed as essential on the role profile. However, there might be options available for applicants with a suitable skillset and level of experience to apply and complete qualifications while in-post:\\n\\nLevel 4 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (or work towards and achieve within 12 months)\\nLevel 2 qualifications in English and Maths.We are also interested in speaking to individuals with the following qualifications.
