Job Description Laboratory Assistant (Material Characterization) – Li-ion Battery Cell (Applied Research) Oxford What you’ll do… You will be responsible for conducting advanced material characterisation of Li-ion battery components to support R&D efforts in improving battery performance. This role involves using techniques like SEM, XRD, and FTIR to analyze materials and assist in material validation. Conduct a range of characterization tests (e.g., SEM, XRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy) to analyse the properties and structure of Li-ion battery materials. Record data from characterization tests, interpret results, and provide insights into material properties and behavior. Operate and maintain advanced characterization equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality. Work with material scientists and researchers to provide critical data for material selection, validation, and optimization. Maintain detailed records of experiments and analyses.
