With a strong presence in the commercial and office fit-out sectors, they provide comprehensive electrical solutions from design through to installation and commissioning, with project values typically ranging from £50k to £2m. Due to ongoing business growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join the team.
The Role: As an Electrical Estimator, you'll play a vital role in the pre-construction phase, preparing accurate, competitive estimates across a range of commercial electrical projects. You'll work closely with engineers, project managers, and the wider pre-construction team to ensure all bids are aligned with client expectations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender electrical projects from £50k to £2m in value
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Identify scope, materials, and labour requirements
- Evaluate risks and explore cost-saving or value-engineering opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers/subcontractors
- Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing
- Maintain an accurate cost database and utilise historical project data
- Assist in the preparation of detailed bid proposals and client presentations
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Electrical / M&E Building Services sector
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and installations
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Relevant electrical qualifications
- Design experience is advantageous but not essential
