Are you an experienced leader in experimental aerodynamics ready to step into a key role with a cutting-edge aerospace organisation? We’re searching for an Aerodynamics Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations and help shape the future of aerodynamic testing and capability. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled professionals working at the forefront of high-speed aerodynamic research and development. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of technically complex test programmes – from early planning to wind tunnel readiness.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee aerodynamic operations, managing workflow, resources, and project deadlines
- Ensure the preparation of models and test cells meets operational plans and contractual milestones
- Collaborate across departments to maintain alignment and smooth test execution
- Input into project planning and bid estimation, advising on resources and timelines
- Lead and support a team of operational staff, conducting performance reviews and progression plans
- Own RAMS documentation and develop standard operating procedures
- Manage maintenance schedules for key equipment (mechanical rigs, electrical systems, etc.)
- Build a team skills matrix to support training, upskilling, and team resilience
- Champion a culture of safety, efficiency, continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Identify and implement improvements in equipment, processes and working environments
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven leadership in an operations, engineering or technical environment
- Strong planning and resource management skills
- Excellent communicator, able to coordinate cross-functional teams
- Comfortable working under pressure and making informed decisions
- Practical understanding of technical test equipment and processes
- Hands-on experience in developing teams, procedures and continuous improvement
- Aerospace or high-tech R&D experience preferred
